Description: To stop the threat of abuse and to minimize the stress these parents are facing, they offer 24/7 opportunity to take the children for up to 72 hours. The children are kept safe at the Kottage while their parents, relieved of parenting responsibilities for a short time, identify and implement plans to solve or mitigate the issue of the crisis.

Cunningham Place
- A 52 bed transitional housing unit in Edmonton that allows families and individuals to receive services and be housed in the project for up to three years.
- Native Counseling Services of Alberta offers culturally- sensitive programs to the youth-at-risk who are between the ages of 18 – 30 years old.
- This program focuses on homeless prevention through providing urban living skills and employment readiness programs, which assists individuals to work towards independence and self- sufficiency.
- Cunningham Place is an alcohol and drug free environment.

Nova House
- Nova house offers homeless youth aged 16 – 24 years old a safe to develop the skills necessary to make positive lifestyle choices and live independently in the community.
- They create a non-judgmental atmosphere, where the youth progress at the pace that suits them.
- While residing at Nova House the youth are expected to enroll in educational upgrading, a personal development program or to find employment.
- Nova House hopes to enable the youth to learn the skills necessary to transition to permanent housing.

Ben Calf Robe Society – Semi-Independent Living Program
- The Ben Calf Robe Society places an emphasis on education. The Semi-Independent Living Program is for youth between the ages of 16 to 24 years that are working towards completing high school and pursuing post-secondary studies.
- The program screens all applicants to ensure they are accepting those who have a genuine desire to complete their academics. They have 8 one-bedroom units that are completely furnished and there is an Elder and a House Parent who resides on-site.
- The Semi-Independent Living program also has a Youth Coordinator who assists residents with achieving success. They provide the residents with academic and employment planning and cultural resources such as circles, sweats and smudges.

- This program includes nutritious meals and snacks for the children as well as individual & group parenting information and support for the youth.
- They also help the youth with accessing funding to help with childcare fees.
- The school provides two Medical Doctors, Public Health Nurses, Birth Control Nurses, a Dental Hygienist and an immunization Nurses.

The Learning Store
- Provide individualized educational programming and academic assistance for each of the students and to provide an opportunity for students to work at their own pace.
- Outreach provides opportunities for students to achieve success in a non-traditional school environment.
- Staff at the Learning Store will provide an orientation to the program, including the course materials, course outline, evaluation process, and schedule for course completion. Students will receive their first assignment and course material at this time, provided they have paid the instructional materials fee of $70.00.

- The Action 22 recognizes that women often face many barriers that can prevent them from accessing or completing treatment.
- The Action 22 program is designed to reach women aged 12- 24 years old who need help for a substance use concern, and to provide them with additional support while they are engaged in treatment to help facilitate success.
- The primary goal of this program is to provide an enhanced level of addiction services to women with substance use concerns who face multiple barriers, such as poverty, children in care, trauma, mental health, and sexual exploitation.
- Action 22 recognizes abstinence will not be the goal for all the women who receive services.

Resources for Youth Experiencing Sexual Violence
Little Warriors Program
Little Warriors is a national charitable organization focused on the awareness, prevention and treatment of child sexual abuse. They also advocate on behalf of and with child sexual abuse survivors. Little Warriors offers an inpatient and outpatient treatment program on the Be Brave ranch for boys and girls ages 8 to 12 years old, and girls 13 to 16 years old.
Children and their families receive comprehensive individual, group and/or family therapeutic interventions while in the program, combined with physical and recreational activities, within a camp-like environment.
