Roles of a YRAP Volunteer

MENTOR:
All youth who participate in YRAP are matched with a youth mentor who spends time with them and supports them through their court involvement and consequences. This is an essential part of YRAP because it builds long-term relationships founded on trust while also offering a positive role model who is close in age. Learn more about mentorship here.

PANEL MEMBER:
YRAP’s panel members are directly involved in facilitating restorative justice in the community by participating in panels.

BOARD MEMBER:
YRAP’s board is always looking for new members! Please contact us for more information.

FUNDRAISER COMMITTEE MEMBER:
YRAP’s fundraising committee meets monthly and plans fundraising events and initiatives. There is a lot of room for creative planning and organizing!

CIY VOLUNTEER:
YRAP’s Cook It Yourself program is a summer weekly course that teaches youth to cook simple, nutritious meals in a fully functioning kitchen by a professional cook. Volunteers can help out with prepping for the program, facilitating, and joining in!

DIY VOLUNTEER:
YRAP’s Drop-In for Youth is a program that runs every week. We alternate between an activity Drop-In chosen ahead of time by the youth at previous drop ins, and an art drop in run by our Arts Coordinator. As a volunteer, you would  help facilitate the activity, interact with the youth, and have a good time! Learn more about the DIY here!

OTHER:
Volunteering at YRAP is flexible and new opportunities to get involved are always emerging!
